When I bought my Cub the trim wouldn't work reliably because of dried grease and grime on the
jackscrew. A dry teflon based lube works for me.

Thanks folks. Any recommendation on where to get one? Aircraft Spruce has them but they have
quite a few bad reviews for poor fit and the spot weld breaking. I don't see them at Univair

Weather permitting, Rick and I are flying the RV-4 over to Lebanon, TN. Didn't know about
Perryville. Looks like about 11 miles difference between the two. 209 to Lebanon and 198 to
    Perryville. Kind o...

With some planes it matters but my personal experience with the J-3 is that it doesn't. You
should, however, be proficient with both.

Nearly crashes again ?That's a bit melodramatic. At little grass strips where folks know each
other it's common to have someone back taxi then hold while you land over them. Not a
    recommended procedu...
