J5Mike- I would like to know who you are? My name is Landon Bliss and if you knew the man who crashed in the J3 Cub in Mount Vernon, Texas in 1989, then you should know who I am? I would like to clarify some incorrect data in one of yalls posts on the struts that were used on that airplane. My father bought two Cubs as basket cases and they used the bad struts instead of the good ones on the plane. Yes they were tapped out and he certainly didn't know. My dad did not take any short cuts in having any of his planes built. By the way he didn't own a Pitts! He had a Stearman, L-19, Cessna 185, and the Cub at his time of death. Sorry to be a little pissy, but I search his N number ever so often to see what I comes up, on any of his planes. This just caught me off guard.
