Default I guess we should ...

... not be to fussy in our restoration if we what to preserve what an L-4 was in service. Check this out, what the National Air and Space Museum is doing. Very glad to see they are doing a preservation then a restoration.

I read the book when I was a kid. My father was a Martin test pilot - did the first flight on a lot of these.

The Chief mechanic on the Flak Bait restoration is an old buddy of mine, Pat Robinson. Many years ago, when I was an FNG flight instructor at the old Frederick Aviation, Pat was working the line fueling airplanes and getting them blocked in and out on time. Very good guy. We lost touch for awhile, but then I started seeing him at area air shows helping out as a marshaller. Then I find out the old bastard got himself a dream job at Air and Space. When I was there, I tried to get transferred as a restoration specialist at Silver Hill, but there were no openings. Now he's there at Udvar-Hazy. He says they're really putting the time and effort into getting her back in shape.
