Unless A-698, Note 4 has been complied with, gross appears to be 1100 pounds.
Edited for mis-statement.

Note 4 of A-698 is saying all s/n of J3L-65 are eligible for 1170 with the struts and fittings upgrade.

Did the 1220 gross weight increase use Paul's STC?

Looks like a nice clean cub with everything in order but expect some haggling on that price.

Has the STC for 1220 Gross Weight. Good clean airplane but needs to find a new home. Just reduced to 41,500.00

Good price! Usually everything you find under $30 is junk!

UNLESS, you would consider the PA 15 & PA 17 Vagabonds. Those available for sale fly better, climb & cruise faster, are easier to get into and out of and sell for 25-35k in great condition. HOWEVER, they are only for those folks who PREFER the side by side seating vs. looking at the back of your friends head. Choices in life as not all Piper pilots like a CUB.

There are lots of airplanes cheaper than J3s. All of them are better in one aspect or another. But they aren't J3s.
